Its a beatiful looking machine which is an amazing addition to the Retro wall but it has one issue which annoys me. The power cable.

Sadly It can’t be removed or can it. I could just chop it off with some sort of connector but I thought I would give it a more elegant solution.
I have these C8 sockets which I originally used on a BBC micro with the same issue.

I’m sure with a bit of shaping it can be fitted where the current cable is located.
Disassembly
There is just a few screws on the bottom of the case and a couple of cables linking the top keyboard and bottom motherboard and the unit comes apart.
The cable is held with a plastic clamp which is easily removed. I chopped the cable as it is redundant at this stage.

Just need to reshape the new socket and slightly adjust the metal hole with a bit of filing.

Thats better.

The oroginal internal cable just solders to the new socket.
